Thank you for visiting our website!
At Feathered Friends of Mobile, our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide a sanctuary for exotic birds in need, making us a vital part of the Alabama Parrot Rescue community. We are dedicated to creating a safe and loving environment for unwanted and mistreated birds.
We are a home-base safe haven for mistreated, abandoned, and abused parrots. Occasionally, we receive birds that have been deeply loved, but their owners can no longer care for them. Our mission is to ensure that they find a true and safe forever home. We also conduct home visits to guarantee the best fit for our birds
Our rescue is home to a variety of adorable parrots just waiting to choose their forever homes, from smaller species to larger macaws. If you're interested in parrot adoption, fill out our Adoption Application to learn more.
Do you love birds? Consider volunteering at our rescue! We are always in need of volunteers to help with important tasks such as socializing with the feathered kiddos. Whether you're interested in gaining experience or adoption, your support is invaluable to our mission.
We understand that surrendering your bird is a deeply emotional and difficult decision, and we are here to support you every step of the way. As part of our commitment to bird welfare, our team ensures that your beloved bird is placed in a safe, loving forever home. We are happy to provide updates and photos so you can see them thriving in their new life.
Hello, my name is Cristal Santos, and I’m the founder of this wonderful rescue — Feathered Friends of Mobile.
I’ve been volunteering with rescues and shelters since 2012, and as a lifelong animal lover, I wanted to make an even bigger difference. That dream became a reality in 2018 when I founded Feathered Friends of Mobile.
Outside of rescue life, I’m a full-time mom of three — ages 7, 10, and 13 — and I also homeschooled them. My kids are a big part of our rescue missions! While they aren’t hands-on caretakers, they love being involved, learning about each bird’s story — some joyful, some heartbreaking — and witnessing the impact of kindness and compassion firsthand.
Thank you for being here and for loving these feathered souls right alongside us. ❤️
Your generous donations helps us perform vital work, providing a safe haven for exotic birds in need, food, veterinary care, rehabilitation, and enrichment. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us ensure that these beautiful creatures receive the love and care they deserve.
Adoption Fees
Our adoption fees play a crucial role in supporting the birds in our care and the permanent residents, by covering some of the costs for food, toys, enrichment, gas, and veterinary care for all the birds in our care.
‼️Adoption Fees don't include cage!
Thank you for helping us continue our mission to provide every bird a safe and loving home.

Step 1:
Fill out the adoption application as sincerely and honestly as possible. We carefully screen all applicants, including checking social media, to ensure a good fit for our birds. Provide us a walk-through video of your home. We then schedule a home visit. Send us pictures and measurements of your cage.
Step 2:
If we believe you may be a good match, I will call you to discuss which bird might be suitable, and then we will set up an in-person meeting at my home.
Step 3:
Multiple visits may be required to ensure our birds feel comfortable with you, to build trust, and to let the bird choose you. We take the time needed for the bird to choose you, not the other way around. There is a legally binding contract that needs to be signed in person to proceed with the parrot adoption.
Step 4:
We personally deliver our birds to their new homes. If you are not comfortable sharing your address or allowing a home visit, please do not apply. It is essential for us to know exactly where our birds will be living—this is non-negotiable, especially for our rescue.
Step 5:
Once everything is a good match, the adoption will be finalized. Please note: the process can take 4–5 weeks. We are not a pet store where you walk in and leave with a bird in 30 minutes. Patience and understanding are required for a successful transition.
